Tiny Bears

Our No Mommy Just Me instructional program provides a learning environment for your little one to grow physically and socially without a caregiver.

The instructor will guide your little one in activities that encourage gross/fine motor development, hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness and movement exploration. Equipment includes hula-hoops, climbing ropes, balance beams, tunnels, trampolines, and of course the awe-inspiring loose foam pit. This fun-filled class, captivates youngsters as they are constantly singing, hoping, swinging, bouncing, and taking turns on trampolines, trapeze swings, Tumbl trak, only to finish with “I Can DO IT Time!” 

Tumble Bears

our preschool gymnastic classes are one of our most popular programs. We know a good foundation at an early age leads to success. Our professional staff guides these preschoolers in activities that improve strength, balance, flexibility, hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness along with teaching them the fundamentals of gymnastics and tumbling.

They will enjoy running, jumping, swinging and climbing in a safe and fun atmosphere. Equipment includes balls, hula-hoops, ropes for climbing and swinging, balance beams, chutes and ladders, tunnels, trampolines, and of course the favorite loose foam pit. We understand child development, and we have designed our classes to meet the cognitive, social, and physical needs of young children. At Farmingdale Gymnastics Academy, small successes never go unnoticed, and a nurturing class environment makes for happy, healthy kids.

Combo Bears

an introduction to Gymnastics & dance for ages 3-5. This class is divided up into 2 parts: 30 minutes of dance and 30 minutes of gymnastics. students will focus on the basics of dance: balance, coordination, flexibility while learning leaps, turns and jumps as well as the basics of gymnastics on all 4 events.

KINDER BEARS

The Kinder Bears program is an exciting fun-filled next step in your child’s development in the wonderful world of gymnastics. It's time to take those first solo steps on the high beam, or swing from the “Big Kids Bar”.

This is a brand new age of discovery that will have your child excited to see what’s next. This is the beginning of Kinder Bear setting their own goals and being proud of their own accomplishments.

Combo Beginner

an introduction to Gymnastics & dance for ages 6-9. This class is divided up into 2 parts: 30 minutes of dance and 30 minutes of gymnastics. students will focus on the basics of dance: balance, coordination, flexibility while learning leaps, turns and jumps as well as the basics of gymnastics on all 4 events.

Beginner Gymnastics

6-9 year olds

10-16 year olds

 Gymnasts will focus on core strength, arm strength, and the coordination necessary to learn headstands, handstands, cartwheels and forward rolls- the fundamental building blocks of almost all gymnastics skills.

They will spend time hanging, swinging, and supporting themselves on the bars in order to build the necessary strength to pull over onto the bars. Balance and coordination on beam will continue to improve through repetition of walking, jumping, and kicking, leading into turns and leaps. The focus on vault will begin with proper running technique, skipping and hurdling drills, leading to jump ups and squat ons. All athletes will grow at their individual pace with encouragement and positive reinforcement from our professional coaching staff.

Intermediate Gymnastics

6-9 year olds

10-16 year olds

All recreational classes are designed to be a continuation of skills and growth from the previous class. Intermediate class will continue to build strength and gain flexibility. Gymnast will begin learning backward rolls, back bends and kick overs. Having the strength necessary to do a pull-over allows the gymnast to focus on casting and back hip circles on bars.A renewed emphasis on developing balance and coordination on beam through walking, jumping and turning, allows the student to gain confidence and begin working on levers and handstands. Proper running technique will still be a focus on vault and students will begin learning handstand flat backs.

Advanced Gymnastics

Gymnasts will continue to work back bends and kick overs, eventually shifting to walkover skills when individually ready. They will be learning handstand forward rolls, and begin working round offs. As The athlete builds more core and arm strength, they will start working glide swings and mill circles on bars. handstands will continue to be a focus on beam, working not only 3/4 handstands, but also cartwheel to handstand dismounts. They will begin learning handspring vaults in this level, as well as working on how to block off their hands in a handstand.

Boys Gymnastics

Gymnasts will focus on core strength, arm strength, and the coordination necessary to learn headstands, handstands, cartwheels and forward and backward rolls- the fundamental building blocks of almost all gymnastics skills. They will spend time hanging, swinging, and supporting themselves on the rings, high-bar, and parallel bars in order to build the necessary strength to do pull overs, inverted hangs and straddle travels. They will gain coordination through repetition of bell swings on the pommel horse and walking circle drills on the dome. The focus on vault will begin with proper running technique, skipping and hurdling drills, leading to jump ups and squat ons. All athletes will grow at their individual pace with encouragement and positive reinforcement from our professional coaching staff.

Tumble

5-9 year olds

10-16 year olds

This class is great for gymnasts, dancers, and cheerleaders who want to work tumbling skills. This class focuses on back walkovers, cartwheels, roundoffs, and the skills that lead into back handsprings, back tucks, etc.

Acrobatics & Tumbling

Beginner  5-9 year olds     10-16 year olds

Intermediate   5-9 year olds     10-16 year olds

Advanced 10-16 year olds ONLY

 Learn the basics of Acrobatics and Tumbling, the team sport taking over the NCAA. Combines different aspects of artistic gymnastics, acrobatic gymnastics, tumbling and cheer leading.

HOMESCHOOL

This class is great for children who are home schooled and looking for an opportunity for physical activity and socialization.
